Music and more with claudecat17 (aka Chris Davlin)!

Keeping it short today, a refreshing change from the usual here I’d imagine, from the perspective of our non-existent audience, if it existed. I’m over my comma quota already, so let’s get right to it.

I’ve liked this song since first hearing it when it came out. Somehow I never saw the video. Until somewhat recently, and then again today when I was reminded of it by Lake Street Dive’s cover of this guy’s big hit “Maniac”, or maybe it was another tune with the word automatic in it. Lots of great weed today folks, ngl (that’s “not gonna lie” for the acronym-challenged. Do the kids call them acronyms? I doubt it…). Lots of weed and a nap or two, the dream Saturday! And I spent part of it watching this again. Lots of weed, remember? I do!

I won’t even attempt to describe it. You’re on your own. Enjoy, become angry, be repulsed… let whatever emotions that happen happen. Don’t fight it. All I’ll say is that Michael Sembello was a music whiz at a young age and ended up playing with Stevie fucking Wonder while still in his teens I think. He grew up into this guy. Never had another hit as far as I know, and I refuse to look into it. Enough is enough. Nap time beckons…
