Lake Street Dive – “Dance With a Stranger”

Here we go music lovers! The first of what will be a daily thing here, at least until enough people start coming to make writing about things seem less futile, but probably permanently. After a very long hiatus, I’m back to constantly processing music, mostly the same old stuff, but you never know… I try to keep up with the few artists and genres I still care about that remain alive but I don’t generally go looking for new things without prior knowledge. I did just recently discover Sierra Hull though, so there’s that. Only a decade late!

Anyway, I absolutely love this track right now. The incredible rhythm section is extra incredible here, both drums and bass, and it’s simply a great song, sung by someone who REALLY knows what she’s doing… I’ve been singing a lot myself lately and this one is fun as hell. The verses are tough because of her little bag of impossible yet highly alluring vocal tricks (skills!), but the chorus is easy and fun as shit! Hey Rachael, can you be my vocal coach? I have Twizzlers…

So turn it up, feel the beat, and dance around a little, even if it’s just in your chair, rehab/waste management facility, or house of worship. You’ll feel better, and so will everyone around you later on when you’re less irritable, even nice! Imagine being nice! To someone not on your phone! Better yet, do it! I think they’re gonna repeal that law soon anyway, so get a head start on enjoying enjoyment again before the rush!

That’s enough blather, right? Hit play now, and thanks so much for visiting if you did – you are here though, so…

Comments welcome but no longer compulsory. You don’t even have to subscribe or any of that bullshit, just come back at your own ideal pace, which doctors are now saying is daily. They gave the all clear on commenting and liking too. NOT fatal! Just a mild headache. Huzzah!
