It’s been a lousy last hour or two. An Ebay customer did something extremely dumb and now there’s yet another layer of complexity to that whole mess, one that will likely mean another week of grilled cheese for dinner. I’ve given the poor young lad until midnight tonight to reverse his request so my money doesn’t stay on hold but I fully expect him to do nothing. I’m not sure he’s able understand words longer than 4-5 letters tops. Yep. Another one.
And right then I also get another instance of the garden variety “can you sell that $230 guitar that you’re already gonna lose $100 on for $200?” crap. This one had the nerve to claim he would have bought if I hadn’t called him out for not reading the listing, which heavily featured the words “do NOT ask about price!!!”, several times. He even got all huffy and superior about it, calling me rude for saying his reading skills were lacking. Motherfuckers. Dumbass motherfuckers, with attitude now! That’s fun…
I fear for the world’s future, I really do, and it’s not the climate change or the wars or wealth inequality or any of that. It’s just flat out stupidity! It’s becoming the new pandemic! Maybe it’s just Ebay but mark my words, it’ll spread, and it ain’t gonna get any better than it is now. Not in my country. Not in my lifetime.
Frankly it’s a relief to know I won’t be around for the real bad stuff. By then we’ll probably be using super soakers as weaponry, and Silly String to keep the remaining skyscrapers scraping. Idiocracy is here! It’s been here! We won! First place in the race to pure ignorant bliss, aka enlightenment, sponsored by Mountain Dew. It’s got electrolytes! The frog’s been boiling for years now! Or had you not noticed that even normal people you respect watch reality junk now? People that would shock you. It’s spreading! That poor frog’s been stringy and gelatinous for a long long time now!
I immediately thought of this tune when my mood changed to foul hours ago now. I knew I wanted something free jazz-y, the angrier and more annoying the better. This tune didn’t just spring to mind, it was launched at warp speed right into the “listening to it in my head” mental region, then into the very fingers I’m using now to type this, slowly. It’s a tune that fits all requirements while also using traffic noises as the theme. The guy playing the whistle is uncredited, as are the sirens. It gets chaotic. The felines here are not fans at all, though I have to believe free jazz appeals to some cats. I like it myself and I’m a pretend cat!
I’ve always liked the Mingus album this was on. One of my favorites despite being pretty weird. I wouldn’t use “love” for anything this free jazz-y, but this one’s close, and this tune’s a big part of it. It’s one of his “out there”
albums, with a suitably weird title, Pithecanthropus Erectus. (no idea…)
I have to be in a certain mood for this kind of music to tug at my ear and demand to be heard. I’m in that mood after this latest dumb guy incident. Last time it was a literal one armed man, a drifter I guess, who ordered just as he was preparing to move from Branson, MO to, get this, some remote place in rural Oklahoma! Thing is, he forgot he’d set up forwarding and panicked when the tracking didn’t include anything about that whatsoever. I’m not sure who’s at fault there really, one armed man or our now floundering US Postal Service.
They’ve been unreliable for several months now, losing a big $500 parcel which still hasn’t turned up. The lady at the podunk branch just plain put the wrong labels on the wrong boxes, and so far nobody’s talking. I have that same lady clerk looking into it but I’ll get to that when things settle back down.
Should be interesting to hear what method she uses to escape blame herself. My guess is… I don’t even know! I can’t think of one way someone might escape blame when I literally saw her scan and apply the labels, assuming she’d gotten it right of course. I forgot what the other package sent that day was but it sure as shit wasn’t worth $500! Someone who ordered a pedal or something similar got a freebie, a whole box of ’em in fact! Two guitars, some pedals and power supplies, etc. Plus a large coffin case worth $100 alone. We’ll see what happens next time I’m forced to visit the Post Office
That’s enough for today! I need sleep and then big food, in that order. Thanks for visiting and/or reading! It means a lot when the user base is still single digits. A comment or like would be welcome but only if you’re feeling it sincerely. I will not beg for either despite a love for the Temptations’ hit “Ain’t Too Proud to Beg”. In this rare instance I guess I am too proud to beg. It’s up to you America, whaddya say?
PS: Did you know that the word lousy comes from the insect the louse, or lice as we more often see them referred to? It’s true! Lice used to be a more common issue I think. Never had ’em myself, that I remember anyway. The aliens might have erased that part though. They seem to enjoy it. I do not, and will be calling the brand new Space Force with an angry tirade to that effect.
Yep. Bedtime alright… I’ve been writing/editing this all night and yes, I’m fine publicly complaining about a dumb teen from Ebay. Hitting the publish button now. See ya!
