I may have posted this tune already some time ago, so apologies to nobody in advance. Everything’s a little hazy right now for reasons I’m tired of complaining about, so I’ll just trudge forward with the tune and the requisite yammering by yours truly. Isn’t that an odd phrase, yours truly? As opposed to yours indifferently I suppose, but why say it at all?
It was real big in the olden days. There was a radio show called Yours Truly, Johnny Dollar. He was an insurance investigator for the New England Life company! Oooh! Doesn’t that sound exciting?!? The episodes have names like “The Hathaway Matter”. Every one was something matter!
But somehow the show ran so long there were several guys that played Johnny over the years. I wouldn’t be surprised if they made a TV show. I guess people loved insurance investigating right after the war and didn’t stop until radio itself died. That’s fucking weird man!
Digression has become an art form for me. The tune! Keep your shirt on Curly! I have it right here, in this little capsule, barely the size of a pea! First I gotta yammer, right? It’s my blog!
I loved this song immediately, the minor key, the feel of foreboding, all too familiar these days, and lyrics that mean something, always with this great female led band. I’m not talking about the singer so much as the musical heart and soul of the band, bass player Bridget Kearney, who likely wrote this one or contributed, as with most LSD tunes. Read up on her and be amazed! At one point she was in dozens of bands simultaneously! In demand is nice. Great bass player, great writer, great artist, as is the singer, the spectacular Rachael Price, who sounded like this as a kid. There’s YouTube evidence!
There, just a single medium sized paragraph of yammering! I’m happy with that, and I bet you are too, since you don’t statistically exist. Ain’t that a bitch, huh? You don’t exi-ist, you don’t exi-ist! Let me clarify. An average of one visitor a day, spread across several dozens of posts… That means you don’t exi-ist, you don’t exi-ist! So nyaaah!
Here’s the tune, nobody:
